Brief Topic Summary

Seed Questions - To get us started

  • 1. Are current trends in land ownership, farming practices, and food quantity and quality satisfactory to you and your community? From your point of view what seems to be working and what isn't working?
  • 2. Does food have a value to you and your community beyond the need for calories and nutrition? Is that value changing?
  • 3. Does it matter to you and your community where your food comes from?
  • 4. Cheryl Tevis, writing in Successful Farming magazine said, "If society wants a means of producing food, then a few large farms is one way to do it. But if society wants a clean, thriving rural place to live and work and raise children, then you have to rethink this formula."
